Weekend Wrap-Up

 Friday night we celebrated Kylee at her Senior Night for Cross Country.  So proud of her.

She has such a sweet group of friends!

Kase was at the game with his friends too so Kent and I went out for dinner after Kylee was announced.

Saturday we had a really nice day just getting things done and also relaxing a bit.  Kylee had a long run then babysat, Kase is so proud of his birdhouse he made in shop class- he sanded it and went with Kent to buy paint for it.  Kent and I went on a beautiful walk at Saylorville, we watched some football and had a fun pizza night with Kylee while Kase was out with friends. 

Sunday we spent the day at Kael's concert! He had a ton of guitar solos and played so well.  My parents had gone to see the concert the night before and on Sunday we all went plus Keith and Cindy and Kael's girlfriend Emma!

He seriously killed it! The director even commented to me after on what a great job he did. Later that night we went out to dinner to celebrate him and also Grandpa Keith's 70th birthday and we ran into my aunts and uncles in Pella! So fun!!!

Thankful Thursday

 I'm thankful for how much Kase currently loves wrestling.  Proud of him for trying something new.

I'm thankful for great coaches who take Kylee's physical and mental well-being into account as they prepare for the end of the season.  Kylee didn't race at the State Qualifier yesterday because the coaches want her in her best possible shape for State.

I'm thankful for how proud Kase is of the birdhouse he made in shop class! It turned out so good! 

Weekend Wrap-Up

We had a VERY exciting week last week! Kylee ran at the conference meet and placed 19th overall, earning her all conference honors! She had the race of her career- a lifetime best of 19:09.  I just could not be happier for our girl.  She has worked so hard and has been through all the ups and downs and emotions that go with running and it's really fun seeing her have such a successful senior year!

We went out for dinner to celebrate her that night and have spent the rest of our weekend with the kids at the football game, Kent and I snuck away for a dinner out with our besties, Kase mostly hung out with friends all weekend and Kent and Kylee volunteered at the Middle School met which is a big fundraiser for our cross country team.

Thankful for beautiful weather! Also Kael and Emma celebrated their two year anniversary this weekend so that was exciting for them too!!!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Kylee had an absolutely phenomenal race in Fort Dodge last week! The whole team did so well and it's great seeing them have fun and a lot of success.

She also had the opportunity to be interviewed with her coach for Ankeny Fanatic and did a great job!

I don't have many other pictures from the weekend but we stayed busy with football game, birthday parties (Kylee and her friends), a quick trip to the pond for Kent and Kael, an Adventureland outing with Kase and his friends, sleepovers and family dinners. 

It has been SO great having Kael home for a few days.  We enjoyed having his girlfriend come hang out too! Kael is just so easy to have around and loves spending time with the family. He heads back to school today but I'm already looking forward to having him home for Thanksgiving! It's been nice for Kylee and Kase to have a couple days off school too and be able to relax a little! 

Thankful Thursday

 I'm thankful for a beautiful night for football on Tuesday and so thankful for how much fun it is to watch Kase! He has grown so much in his confidence this year and it is just awesome watching him out there throwing great passes, making great runs and just having fun. Thankful for all the friends and family who cheer him on! 

Weekend Wrap-Up

Had a nice weekend- Friday Kylee and Kase went to football games with friends.  Kylee is having fun getting into the themes this year and wearing her senior pants!

Saturday Kael came home and it was fun to spend the day with him. Later that night we went out for dinner at a new restaurant in The District. Love when the OG five of us get to spend time together! Kase had a couple friends stay overnight later that night. 

Sounds like it's finally going to feel like fall this week and we are ready for it! Kent is tired of the heat- ha!

Thankful Thursday

I'm so very thankful to have celebrated 20 years with my very favorite person. It's honestly been an intense season of life we're in right now. Kids are busy. Life is busy.  Bigger kids sometimes means having bigger problems.  And there's no one in the world I'd rather be navigating it all with than Kent.  He's just the best.  A strong, confident, calm and rational leader of our family.  I'm so thankful to be loved by you, Kent.
