Thankful Thursday

I'm thankful school is back in session.  Not sure Kase is though- ha!

I'm thankful for some fun senior year memories already made for Kylee and her friends. They watched the sunset the night before school at the beach together.

Then had a sleepover and went to Senior Sunrise on the football field for the first day of school!

She did stop home for a front door pic.

I'm thankful for a great first meet for Kylee on Tuesday! She looked strong and was content with her time and placement.

I'm thankful for my partner in crime as we are the senior cross country parents this year.  Setting up team camp is a big commitment and I'm so thankful to have him by my side!

Thankful for my village and for everyone coming out to support Kylee.  Keith and Cindy were so sweet to pick up Kase from football and hurry him out to the meet even though it meant they missed part of the race.  I really appreciated them handling him so I could be there!

Have a great weekend!

Weekend Wrap-Up

I can't believe it's already back to school time! I hope my people are ready to make it a great year!

Friday we had an impromptu hangout with our besties.  Love this fam so much. Kase also had fun golfing with some of his buddies earlier in the day and Kent also golfed with his friend.  Kylee finished up nannying and got some super sweet gifts from her nanny fam!

Saturday Kase bummed around with friends and we watched the ISU game. Kylee had a long run then went for coffee with her boyfriend's mom then hung out with friends.  Kent and I went to dinner with his high school friends and there wives.  Love this group!!!

Sunday I went with Kylee to a different church to see her friend get baptized.  Special morning for sweet Emma! Then Kase had his annual Back to School Bash with his friends.  This year we went to the pool and had a picnic and yard games at the nearby elementary school.

Kent and Kylee got ice cream and had a nice afternoon.  She has a sleepover planned with friends tonight so they can all wake up together and go to senior sunrise to kick off their year!

Hope it's a great day for everyone back to school tomorrow!

Thankful Thursday

I'm thankful for a fun night at the I Cubs for an event for Kent.  Thankful Kylee and Kase were able to go too and Kase brought his friend along.  Fun night!

I am thankful that school starts soon.  I'm ready for routine! And fall weather!!!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Kent and Kase went to the fair last week with Grandpa Keith.  They had fun but Kase wasn't feeling great so they didn't last long.

Kent and Kael went to the Def Leppard concert with Kevin and Keith and had fun walking around the fair with some more of the fam before the concert.

Kase spent the day at Lost Island waterpark with his friend.

These four hit up the fair one last time! Everyone went this year multiple times besides me- ha!

Sunday we moved Kael in to college- I am just SO happy for him! His roommate was great and had the place all set up so nicely by the time we got there.  Kael is on the second floor in a house (Boatsma) this year and it felt so nice and spacious because of the vaulted ceilings plus it has air conditioning! Several of his friends stopped by right away as we rolled into town.  Makes me excited for the great year I just know he's going to have.  We will sure miss him around here though!

Kase asked to climb up above their closet and the guys thought it was hilarious.  Kael's roommate is the one in the middle (Dylan).

Can't believe their is only a week of summer left but I can already feel things shifting.  With Kael leaving and also Kylee's boyfriend moved to Coe on Saturday, things are definitely quieter around the house. Football and cross country are picking up and going to be filling our schedules very quickly though!!!

Weekend Wrap-Up

 It's been a fun weekend!

We kicked it off Thursday night having dinner out with Kylee and her boyfriend. Kase was off paddleboarding with a friend and Kael was at Emma's.

Friday night Kent got concert tickets to Parker McCollum at the fair with Kylee, Sean and Kase.  Kael had plans with his friend and is going to a concert later at the fair with Kent.

It was hot but they had fun walking around for a little before the concert.

They had a great time!

Saturday was Kylee's birthday- we had breakfast with her and I made her chocolate chip cookies before we left town to go to my family reunion at the pond.  She had plans to spend the day with her boyfriend- they got Starbucks, went out for Mexican and went mini golfing so she had a good day! Later her boyfriend's parents stopped by with the sweetest gifts for Kylee.

And we had a great time catching up with everyone on my side of the family!

Saturday night Kylee went to the Megan Maroney concert with her friend Emma. They had a blast.  These two have been going to concerts at the fair together since 2nd grade!

And they ran into Brooklyn! Love this.

Sunday we had a lazy day around home. Later Kent, Kael and Emma went to an Ice Nine Kills concert!

Happy Birthday Kylee!

Happy 18th birthday to our Kylee Kay!

What a year it's been.  She has always seemed so mature but this has truly been a year of growth for her in my opinion.  She continues to be strong in her faith and prioritizes Bible Study time with friends.  She challenges herself and pushes everyone around her to be the best version of themselves.

As she heads towards making a college decision it's been fun to see her sort out what is important to her.  She has big dreams of studying abroad!

Her sense of humor is all Kent.  Those two have a special relationship that I love to see.  She and I are close but a girl just needs her dad sometimes too.

She and her boyfriend have been together nearly a year now and they are a joy to be around. They challenge each other and it's been great to just see her so very happy lately.

She's a Peter girl through and through- she loves being on the water, near the water, or in the water! She is thankful for weekends at the lake (and on a boat to Capri as pictured above- ha!)

We're so lucky she's ours.  Kylee- you deserve every great thing that comes your way! I have a feeling that year 18 might just be the best yet!! Love you so much!!!!

Weekend Wrap-Up

After a long time apart when we were in Italy, it was so great to spend the weekend together as a family! And with my parents too! And Sean and Emma were both able to come up to the lake with us. So awesome!

We got there Friday afternoon and enjoyed just the loveliest weekend.

A pretty sunset the first night!

These two wrestled around a lot and had fun playing xBox together when they were ready to relax for the night.

CrossNet was a huge hit! We all loved playing that.

Went uptown to see the car show (we had also gotten to see the parade Friday evening) and the kids wanted to stop for fun drinks at Fizz.

We walked around for a bit and everyone enjoyed it even more than I thought they would! Kase and Kent especially liked it.

Went out for ice cream a couple times!

All 9 of us in my dad's car- Kent and Kase squeezed in the back- ha!

This buddy was happiest when he was out skiing. He and Kent doubled and one time Kase crossed under Kent's rope- such a cool trick!

My dad made Kylee and Sean personalized pancakes- they always make everything so fun for all of us and are so welcoming to the extras my kids bring along! (Kael and Emma weren't here for this breakfast or I'm sure he would have made pancakes with their initials too!)

Kylee and Sean had so much fun tubing this weekend.

And Kase learned to slalom!! I was so happy for him. He felt so proud.

Kylee and Kase double skiied too!

Love these two.  Always up for anything.

We were able to celebrate Kylee's birthday with a cookie cake while we were there.

The place in Clear Lake always does such a good job and the cookies are so good! Thanks to my parents for ordering it for her!

Kylee was awake early this morning and wanted to fish- she hooked one!

One last round of tubing before we had lunch at a new to us restaurant on the water. So fun and so many great memories made this weekend.  Love all my people so much.
