Thankful Thursday

I'm thankful that I'm a stay at home mom.  Kase wasn't feeling well Tuesday so I was glad to be able to pick him up right when I got the call.

I'm thankful for twilight, shirtless, shoeless football work.  Kent is always willing to put the time in with Kase.

Weekend Wrap-Up

Thursday was the first meet of the season for Kylee.  The ran in Ames and she had a great race! I was so happy for her- love seeing her finishing strong and proud. Her goal was 20:00 and she got 19:46! She was also the 5th Jag and her goal was just to not be 7th.

Kent is just the best for Kylee.  They have a really special bond during the season especially.

Friday Kase went to the football game with friends and Kent and I went for dinner. Kylee and her friends stopped by Keith and Cindy's on their way to the game for pizza- it's so nice having them right there by the stadium! And so sweet of them to use their Caseys' points and got dinner for the girls!

I love 7th grade Kase.  He is a confident, happy version of himself and it's fun to see. 

Saturday I got zero pictures but Kylee had a long run then went to watch the Iowa/ISU game with friends.  Keith and Cindy were hosting a party so we got the year off from hosting which was nice.  And- Kael came home!!!! It was so great to see him- he's just happy and great too. Kase had a couple buddies over and they had fun watching the game and fishing and making a stop by Keith and Cindy's. Saturday night Kylee went bowling with friends. 

Sunday was Kent's birthday! He had low expectations for celebrating with things as busy as they always are in the fall but he was happy with his surprise carrot cake and just time together with the family. We love you, Kent!!!

Kylee went to church with friends and after church, Kent, Kase and I went up to watch the cousins play football. We got to see both Huston and Krue! That afternoon Kase had his first football game of the season and it was a little rough but it didn't seem to bother him too badly. Kylee had and FCA event and Kent and I went out for a birthday dinner with our good friends.  Kase went back to his friend's house for dinner and a swim/hot tub night and had a blast.

Thankful Thursday

 I'm thankful for a short week and a fun weekend ahead!

I'm thankful for Kent who handles all of the big decisions and work behind them in our life.

I'm thankful for the beautiful weather- we have gotten to take lots of walks lately!

Weekend Wrap-Up

 We were ready for a long weekend around here after the first full week of school.

Kylee has been busy with cross country- love their theme days.

Friday night was the Jag-Hawk football game and the Jags won! Kase had fun running around with friends.

Saturday Kylee had a long run then babysat all day.  Kent, Kase and I went to the lake and Kael went to the ISU game with friends. My sister and her kids were at the lake too and we had a great time!

Tubing is always a hit even when it's a bit rough out there!

Even got to celebrate these birthday twins! We also had a fun (filling!) dinner out in town.

Sunday I headed back to Ankeny since I needed to help with senior gifts for the cross country team.  Kent and Kase went to the pond.

They had a great night.  Meanwhile at home I had a nice time with Kylee- we picked up a late night dinner and enjoyed chatting.

Monday morning Kylee and I went out for brunch which was a fun, special treat and a great start to the day. Later she went to the mall with friends. Kent and Kase got home early afternoon and Kase played with a friend and Kent and I walked.  Kylee had cross country practice that evening. It was a great long weekend! 

Thankful Thursday

 I'm thankful for some pictures from a friend- Kase had a blast this weekend!

I'm thankful for coaches and admin who have made smart decisions this week regarding kids and XC meet and football practices.  I'm glad everyone stayed cool and safe!

I'm thankful for a phone chat with Kael on Tuesday.  I miss my buddy but I know he's doing great in Pella!

I'm thankful for a long weekend ahead.  Let's have some FUN!

Weekend Wrap-Up

 The first day of school seemed like it went just fine for the kids! 

Friday night Kase biked up to the Jag scrimmage with friends and Kent and I went up to see Kylee and her cross country team announced. 

Saturday we didn't seem to know what to do with ourselves- we aren't used to a free day! Kase and Kylee had morning practices then we spent the rest of the day getting some things done around the house, doing errands and dream shopping for some new fun toys for the fam. Kylee went to the Cultural festival downtown with friends and later played sand volleyball.  Kase spent the day with friends and even into the night jumping on the trampoline late with a couple buddies. 

Sunday we had another mostly free day.  Kase ended up going to the pool then Saylorville in the afternoon with a few friends and Kylee went to church with friends then to the library to do some homework. Kent's studying for a test too so I had time to get ready for a full/busy week for the kids. Groceries, meal prep, etc.  Not very exciting stuff but honestly nice to have a free weekend. Hope you all had a great weekend too! 

Thankful Thursday

 I'm  (kind of) thankful that school starts soon.  I'm never quite ready for all the spontaneous fun and time with my kids to end but I know they are ready for some structure and schedule! Wishing everyone a great first day tomorrow!
