Weekend Wrap-Up

Fourth of July edition! Kase went with some buddies to Lost Island last week and had the best time.  Thankful for this gang!

We headed to the pond and lake for the long weekend. My pictures uploaded in reverse so please enjoy some photos of my crew having the best time!!! Kase got the chance to try his new wakeboard.

Fireworks over the lake are my favorite! Clear Lake puts on quite the show!

The neighbors let the kids borrow the jet ski.

We caught a lot of fish this weekend!

Kase and Tyson had so much fun together this weekend- there was a HUGE rainstorm so the boys got to skim board!

The captain of our ship!

Kylee, Kase, Kent and I all skied.

We love to get patriotic!

The sunsets were GORGEOUS every night.

Kase helped Kylee learn to wakeboard.

And Carter tried too!

Kase is starting to hit some jumps and do some tricks so that's fun to watch.

No trip to Clear Lake is complete without a stop at The Viking.

Tubing was so much fun.  Huge thanks to Kent for driving this squad always! Kase even had some friends a couple houses down join us so that was fun!

And the boys got a night at the pond. Always a win.

I'm so very thankful for a great place to spend the Fourth. My parents are the best hosts and always make everyone feel so welcome and included and we love sharing this place with our family and friends. The memories we have made here will last a lifetime!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Kael and Emma made it to the lake this weekend! They had the best time and we appreciated my parents hosting them!

Kase and his squad spent their first summer day at Advenureland!

Kylee and I had a garage sale- I'm so impressed with her planning it and doing all the work for it even as she was busy prepping to speak at commencement. And one of the days that she ran the garage sale she was also babysitting three kids under the age of five! Kylee is certainly driven and a very hard worker.

Putting the last few minutes of practice in before heading to commencement.

You guys, she KILLED it.  Not a single mistake. She spoke so clearly and calmly- I was just so very proud of her.

Congrats, Kylee! You are so accomplished- just look at all those cords and awards around her neck! Thankful for all the family who came to see her.

We enjoyed a lovely family dinner out that night (besides Kase who had plans with friends) and went out for ice cream. Sunday my boys headed to Canada and this year Keith and Cindy are going along! So fun. Kylee spent her day after church going to allll the grad parties.  I had fun watching Berkley and Kellen play softball! Hooray for summer!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Wednesday Kase and I made the trip to Pella for a couple appointments and he humored me with a picture in front of my favorite pink tulips which were already in full bloom!

Kylee's been having fun with her youth group friends.

And Kael absolutely CRUSHED it at his track meet Thursday! There was some quick last minute shuffling with meets lately because the weather has been crummy and we lucked out with the most beautiful day!

Kael must have been feeling great because he beat his PR for discus by more than 6 meters and also beat his PR for hammer by over 4 meters! I couldn't have been happier for him. He's been a little disappointed with his throws lately so it was awesome to see him so pumped up. Way to go buddy!!! It was great that Kent and I could be there for the discus and my parents were also there.  We had to go home for Kylee's senior night at track but my parents were able to stay and cheer Kael on for hammer!

It was a fun night with Kylee and honestly it has been so nice this season not having the stress and pressure of racing.  Her hamstring has been bothering her still and she just hasn't been up to competing yet so we have just enjoyed cheering on her teammates!

Kent and Kase headed to Kansas City for baseball. By all accounts it was a fun weekend for them.

Saturday was my birthday and I woke up to the sweetest note Kylee had left for me. (She had left for Indiana to visit a friend at 4AM Friday morning!) And I had the nicest day- my parents came over to help me sort and organize stuff for Kylee's grad party and they were a huge help. Later Kael came home to spend the day with me. Then he and Emma invited me to join them for dinner so we went to Portofino's and it was so fun.  Super kind of them to include me!

Sunday after church Kael headed back to Pella and I ran to the mall.  The baseball boys had a tough day Saturday for games but Sunday played well! Kylee is still having fun in Indiana and the boys will be getting home here in a couple hours.  Fun weekend! Thankful to all who made my bithday special!
